Having Your Say

As a student at the College it is important that you think of the College as your college. We want to hear what you have to say about the College, about our courses and about our services - and we will use this feedback to make further improvements.

There are many ways in which our students have their say, these include:

• each course electing a student representative
• student representatives coming together as a student council
• student council being attended by College staff, including the Principal
• the Students' Union (SU) being run by an elected executive of student officers and a sabbatical president, and running campaigns based on student issues
• the SU president representing students as a student governor on the College’s Board of Governors
• all students surveyed each term on their experiences of the College and their course
• student focus groups, by faculty, each term.

Students are also involved with the recruitment of key members of staff and looking at the impact of policies to be implemented by the College. For example in 2007 students were invited to vote on the introduction of a smoking ban - they voted for a complete ban across all College centres.
